Dance with Destiny

If I had to choose a partner for the jitterbug, it would be ADVENTURE – fun, spontaneous, with a few ground rules, but otherwise you dance from the heart and your body follows. Adventure is never predictable, and the seduction of the unknown transforms all the bugs into jitters.

If anyone asked what dance I would choose for FAITH, it would have to be the tango. It is intimate, a seduction of the mind before it seduces the body, and above all, it is and exquisite routine and unraveling of the senses that sucks the marrow of life, elevating the crude and mundane daily existence to a dance of life.

What dance depicts PARENTING? Ballet. It requires perseverance, patience, discipline, ample creativity, the greatest of flexibility. You can be a disciplined dancer / parent, following all the lessons learned and handed down from generation to generation, but to be a gifted dancer, this requires an open mind, a generous heart, and the willingness to take leaps of faith on stage and risk public scrutiny at all times.

Ah, but ask me what dance I would do for LOVE, and I think I will sit this one out until I figure it out. I have lost the dancing shoes, painfully aware that although the dance itself exists, I am far from being a willing dancer for fear of being cheated out of the music and the rhythm of the soul again.

Who or what would I choose as a permanent dance partner for LIFE? No question or hesitation, it can only ever be COURAGE, knowing that it has my heart, soul and mind in its embrace.
