4th Sunday of Advent: Find Your FROG

As we gather on the last Sunday of Advent, a profound message unfolds: the call to find our centre and deepen our faith. This sacred season prepares us for Christmas, not as a celebration of decorations or gifts but as the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World. Over the past weeks I’ve taken you through the journey of the animal guides in preparation for a more meaningful Christmas – the cat, the dog, the snake, and now it’s a time to embrace the FROGFully Rely On God.

Advent is a journey. The four weeks leading up to Christmas invite us to slow down and focus on the heart of the season: the coming of Christ. The last Sunday of Advent is a moment of heightened anticipation, a bridge to the fulfilment of God’s promise in the birth of Jesus. In the hustle of holiday preparations, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. The four weeks of Advent remind us to pause, pray, and prepare—not just outwardly, but inwardly.

To embrace the FROG in your life means surrendering control, trusting His plan, and leaning into His strength.

  • F: Faith that God is in control, even in uncertain times.
  • R: Reliance on His wisdom rather than our limited understanding.
  • O: Obedience to His guidance, even when it challenges us.
  • G: Gratitude for His presence and provision in our lives.

In a world that often encourages self-reliance, choosing to FROG is a transformative act of humility and trust.

Spiritual growth during Advent requires us to look beyond surface-level traditions and dive deeper into the essence of Christmas. True empowerment comes not from what we can accomplish on our own but from what we allow God to do through us. I am not a religious person, but I have evolved over the years into a deeply spiritual light worker and 2024 will forever remain in my memory as the year I found the light and deepened my own FROG. It has been a year of struggles and doubts but through it all, my faith never wavered. As we grow spiritually, we become empowered to reflect His light in our lives, offering love, kindness, and hope to those around us.

Christmas is not about perfectly decorated homes, extravagant gifts, or festive parties. While these traditions can bring joy, they pale in comparison to the miracle of Emmanuel—God with us. It is a time to remember our divine purpose, and focus on the idea that life’s greatest treasures are not material but spiritual: peace, joy, love, and faith. Finding your centre means focusing on what anchors your soul. It’s easy to get swept up in the hectic pace of the season, but Advent calls us to ground ourselves, slow down and count our blessings.

At the risk of stating the obvious, I have to point out that FROG is not just for the Christmas season—it’s a way of life. Embrace a peace that transcends circumstances and empower your life with grace and purpose.
