The Power of Patience

My dearest FrogDiva Jr.,

On September 1, 2025 you received your final passing marks for your studies at Falmouth University, and with them you have earned your Bachelor of Arts in Illustration. Words are not enough to describe my pride and joy at your accomplishment. The road has been long and arduous, and you sacrificed so much along the way, almost losing your way and yourself. But there is one thing that remained constant, a flame that never wavered in your soul ever since you were a little girl, that indomitable strength to stand up with grace and dignity each time life dealt you a plateful of punches. Your patience and perseverance are crowned today with talent, vision, and a unique perspective on life that translate beautifully into art.

Patience, as you have learned along the way,  is one of the hardest lessons to learn. We live in a world that glorifies speed, instant results and success, overnight transformation, all of which you have disdained and rejected. So when life slows down, when doors don’t open, when prayers seem unanswered, it’s natural to assume the universe is saying, “No.” More often than not, the universe wasn’t denying you, it was simply preparing you. In doing so, it whispered “Not now” into your soul, and hidden inside that pause is where the real power lies.

You, my darling, are the one who taught me that when you set an intention, offer a prayer, or place your trust in God, something shifts. You’ve planted a seed. As Oma taught you, seeds don’t bloom the moment you put them in the soil. They require darkness, nurturing, and time. And you and I know all about darkness, don’t we? So let me give you my soul gardening tip: it’s in the waiting season, the space between asking and receiving, that faith is tested. The “no” isn’t rejection. It’s redirection. It’s alignment. It’s divine timing at work, reshaping the pieces you can’t yet see.

The waiting was never wasted. It strengthened your faith. It sharpened your clarity. It prepared your spirit to hold what you asked for. Sometimes we’re not ready for what we’re praying for. Just remember that opportunity needs time to grow into its fullest form. The waiting season makes sure you don’t just get what you asked for, but you become the person who can carry it.

Then one day, what felt impossible suddenly clicks into place. The job, the relationship, the breakthrough the graduation. It arrives with divine timing, not a second too early or too late. That’s the moment you realise that the “no” wasn’t a denial. It was an angelic not yet. So when the now arrives, it feels effortless, almost like magic. Doors swing open that you once had to bang on. What was heavy becomes light. What was delayed becomes destined.

That is the power in patience.

Congratulations my darling artist!
Lovingly yours,
Mommy
