Next to Netflix, Pinterest is my favourite time-waster. I landed on it while in search for ideas for small apartments and winter gardens, then I resorted to it for gluten-free recipes and lactose-free desserts. Now it is part of my daily commute and I have come to love the humour of the Minions. My daughter says they are such a “a mommy thing” whatever that means.
I’m not sure all the moms of this world like the minions, but whoever goes out of their way to post these on Pinterest has my gratitude. For those of you who are not quite with the trend, these peculiar yellow blobs are not one-eyed potatoes, but 3D computer-generated images that became popular after the movie Despicable me. Their official description: “small, yellow creatures who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from yellow single–celled organisms into beings which exist only to serve history’s most despicable masters.” (Exclusive: The Synopsis for Minions). Like The Penguins of Madagascar, they were created as sidekick characters but became so popular that they were subsequently given their own spotlight.
There are several thousands of them online, and a find an appropriate one every day to suit my mood. Here are my Sunday choices:
This goes to all the seniors out there who are texting wizards. For those of us in the 50s, don’t laugh too hard, we are almost there!
Still on the Seniors track, but when you stop to think about it, it makes a very good point. Are we really appropriating the right funds to geriatric care and research?
I am currently nursing a migraine, and should be in bed with the lights off, but I needed a substantial breakfast to line my stomach for the medicine. So this reflected my current mood:
