Let it hurt.
Let it bleed.
Let it heal.
Let it go.
– Nikita Gill (author of Your Soul is a River)

The above was inspired after meeting an old friend last night for dinner. I hadn’t seen her in over four years and our children had attended school together once upon a time. We caught up, opened the pages of the missing chapters, and were simply stunned how similar our lives have been over the past years, almost identical even. Needless to say, it was a relief to be with her again, and know that in spite of both our tumultuous lives at the moment, we are still there for one another.

If there is one thing I am learning is that Berlin is the place to lose something and find it again. Whether this is a life goal, direction, career, friend, partner, or simply, yourself. Starting over at midlife is definitely not something one ever plans on, but we deal with the punches, embrace the losses, and celebrate the treasures we have in our lives.
