Back in 2015 three 17-year old girls got together in Bangkok and did a dry run of what was going to be an epic backpacking tour of Europe after graduating from School. They met in Delhi when they were 14 and remained the best of friends. As the idea formed of backpacking together through Europe, the adults privy to the plans suggested that they do a small trip first to test the waters, because if there is something some of us older folks have learned over the years, your best friend does not necessarily make the best travel companion. On the contrary, your favourite travel companion can become your best friend if you are in sync with each other.
Fast-forward to 2016 and the girls embarked on their tour with great success and hilarious adventures, each of them falling naturally into there designated roles. We fondly referred to it as the Hobo Trip and after the initial scintillating success it was decided that this would be an annual event. After the great European escape came more Hobo Trips to Croatia, Turkey, and Greece before the pandemic hit and all travel plans were put on hold. Until this year.
For the Hobo Trip 2024 the chosen destination was Portugal, with a final stop at the Frobbit House as a base camp to explore Lisbon. Did I forget to mention that the three girls live in three different countries? One is based in the USA finishing up her MBA, the second is a doctor working in Germany, and the third is an artist and illustrator finishing up her degree in Spain / UK. I can’t tell you what a pleasure it has been to watch the your girls grow up and flourish, emerging as strong confident women now. Gone are the days of teenage uncertainty in their place are three women who can have funny and philosophical conversations in equal measure. It was an absolute joy to have them all under the same roof and share in their laughter.
Of course I had individual photo sessions with them while they were here! There was no way I was going to let them escape again without documenting there beauty and core strength on camera. Here are the results:

If only we could bottle laughter and joy and save them for a rainy day. Thank you for the beautiful moments girls!
