Serving Up Triptychs

Yesterday was all about sauce, today I meddle with a different type of sauce – a photographic one. It is not often that I find the right theme for a triptych, but every once in a while I strike gold. Let me take you back to March of this year first, to a set of photographs I shot in Fuerteventura at dawn. I was actually photographing sunrise over the ocean but when I turned around, I spotted this couple in the distance and just couldn’t turn away:

Next comes a set of shots taken on a Sunday afternoon at the beach. There were not so many tourists, which I loved and was able to soak in the dynamic of the people present.

The view of the clouds from my house transcends any concept of heaven on earth, which makes it difficult to compose a triptych, so let us limit it to sunrise for the time being. Side note, the third photo was not my original choice but Cherry walked over the keyboard and uploaded it (and five others)!

The last set is related to rain, and what a precious gift it is to be so aware of the little things around me that bring me such joy.

Lastly is a jade plant that sits outside my front door. It is an old and noble plant that has blessed me with flowers regularly. It is spectacular on its own but when it is in full bloom and then kissed by the rain, it is simply breathtaking.

Photography is always an exercise of mindfulness, but even more so when you allow it to permeate your serenity and ground you.
